Here at last, here at last, thank God all mighty, I’m here at last..

After sightseeing Europe more than planned, and enduring fever in three different airports, it was with great relief I finally saw the warm and welcoming faces of my dear friends Johanna, Peter and Josef when stepping out from the customs at Capetown airport on Good Friday ’round lunch, 15 hrs later than planned (no luggage, but hey, what would I expect with my track record).

We’re now based in the City Bowl, where Johanna and Peter is renting a flat with pool and a beautiful view over Table Mountain, and I’m telling you; not hard to fall into a relaxing vacation mode here. Once again, I’m amazed how fast one’s body is responding to a climate it clearly was built for. Coming here with a sore back, high fever, throat infection and clobbing headache the day before yesterday, I can now (peppar, peppar..) realize I can’t really feel any of it.
Well OK, a bit of the latter, but that might correlate with the amounts of remarkably good tasting (and less costing) drinks we enjoyed at Mount Nelson Hotel yesterday after a wonderful bite of the best steak house in CT. Long time I felt as such a colonisateur though, sitting at the veranda at Mount Nelson, servants running around you by the dozen, having afternoon tea, overlooking Table Mountain and planning tomorrows wine tastery tour.

Hello Africa, I like you.
