The sun always shines on the good guys.
Seriously.
I feel (may not look) somewhat like Steve McQueen. It’s been a couple of those days when those little things have just fallen my way.
First, and foremost: the weather. I left Sweden about two weeks ago quite sunny. Arrived to a even sunnier Malta (after all, it is the Med..), just to hear of rain and storms rolling in over Sweden, the worst since some time back. After a magic week, I fly home this Sunday, just to be greeted by blazing sun and 20-ish degrees with clear blue skies in Stockholm Monday morning. What do I then hear from Malta? Clouds and rain the same morning…
Seriously, dear friends that I leave: I did not mean for it to be this way. Honestly.
Then these small things:
- The subway train (I know, shouldn’t use it when the sun is shining, but I wanted to try out my lucky theory) arriving yesterday just when I touched the platform.
- That dear good ol’ roomie of mine calling and asking to buy me dinner in the sun just when I was leaving work.
- That extra cash register at the supermarket opening up just in time for me.
- Those green lights following me when biking to work last morning.
- Arriving to a packed restaurant for lunch today, just to stumble upon a couple just leaving their table on prime location in the sun overviewing the small rowing boats of the Ocean Race.
And this evening, arriving out to Saltis just to meet with sister, dad and the whole family to have that last bit of sunshine and a swim in a luke warm ocean (ok, relatively) followed by some strawberries and ice cream.
I better just enjoy it while it lasts. I’ll buy a lottery ticket tomorrow.
Nästa gång badar jag också – lovar!
