When not much else matters.

There he was.
Born a few days late, on a misty Monday morning around 4 AM, on the 16th of November 2009 on Danderyds sjukhus, Stockholm.
I’m an uncle.
And more importantly; my sister and her ever so sweet Oscar have become very proud parents of a little boy (name yet to be decided, stay tuned).

There are so many beautiful moments that “comes with the package”, and as a family member I’m just so fortunate to experience some of them, if not in first hand, then by witnessing:

The moment when I first saw him, he was four days old. Never saw life that early before.
The moment I could clearly define yet another bright star in my sister’s loving eyes, meeting the exploring ones of her first born.
And the moment with mum and the little one, when neither of them knew I was watching this Saturday, hearing mum talking softly to her first grandchild, as if explaining to him the secrets of life.

Call me soft, but those will stay with me forever.

I don’t quite know what’s most fascinating; seeing the little one lying there, wringing and trying to figure out what happened with the warm and comfy surrounding he’s been chilling in for the last nine months (+), really just being as small as a person can be, or seeing his parents trying to figure him out like a puzzle. “Hm, that sounds like when he was hungry last time, right? Let’s try that..”
You can write and read books by the shelf wide in the subject, but when it all comes down to it, there’s only one way:
Learning by doing.
And people have been doing it since the beginning of human kind. Literally.

To try to take a swing at the gist of it, words can not express the happiness I feel for the best parents ever and their little prince. Nor can they fully describe the exaltation I feel for meeting them as soon as possible again. At some points in life, you realize that some things are just more important, and real, than others. Your priorities gets a rumble-around, and milestones are put down.

I’m gonna be the best uncle.
Ever.

Love you.
